Description
This handcrafted Tibetan Citipati (skeleton deity) Head Mask presents a striking, stylized representation of a skull, rich with wrathful and protective Buddhist iconography. It features a bone-white base with vibrant accents. The main face is sculpted as a smooth, bone-white human skull. The deep grooves of the skull including the eye sockets, nasal cavity, cheekbones, and jawline are heavily highlighted with a vibrant pinkish-red airbrushed gradient, giving it a dramatic, otherworldly depth.
Furthermore, it has the vertical Third Eye of Wisdom, prominently positioned in the center of the forehead featuring a metallic, reflective iris bordered in black and pink. Similarly, the skull features a wide, stylized grin exposing large, cleanly carved white teeth and visible upper gums, capturing the classical dance of death aesthetic central to Citipati depictions.
The five-skull or jewel crown, fan-shaped ear ornaments, multi-colored layering, and every other detail of this mask showcase the talent of the Nepalese woodworking artisans and carry the cultural heritage of Nepal. Our artisans have put their heart into crafting this mask. The separable Dorje crown on the top is another enhanced feature of this unique wall décor masterpiece. It makes a worthy, and meaningful gift for those who love adding a distinct collection to their walls.
