Introducing the antiqued traditional Nepali shaman (Jhankri) drum or Dhyāngro, in short, used for healing rituals, trance ceremonies, and spiritual practices. This unique instrument is used by Jhakris (shamans) in Nepal, particularly among the Magars, Kirati, and Tamang communities. Similarly, many Tibetan Buddhist musicians play this instrument at festivals. This traditional musical drum features a circular wooden frame, carved from a single piece of wood, with drumheads made of goat skin. Its handle has unique carvings resembling a kila (phurba) due to Buddhist influence. It is played by hitting the drumhead with a curved beater that comes along with it, which is made from cane. Next, it also features an antique finish with symbols such as the Hindu Om, and Trishula painted to enhance its cultural beauty.
